 Transportation

Austin is located at the geographic center of Texas, just 45 minutes by plane from Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.  Most flights arriving in Austin come through a hub such as Dallas or Chicago (for American Airlines), Houston (for Continental).

Attendees should book air transportation to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (airport code: AUS).

The Hampton Inn and Renaissance Hotels are in North Austin, close to the institute and the conference center. The Stephen F. Austin is in downtown Austin, about 15 miles South of the institute. The Econolodge hotel is about 5 miles South of the institute. Cab fares from the airport to these hotels cost around $40. Some of the hotels offer a free shuttle service to and from the airport, and all can call a cab or arrange 3rd party shuttle services. Car hire is available at the Airport.

Travel times to Austin by road from nearby cities are approximately: San Antonio: 1.5 hours; Houston: 2.5 hours; Dallas: 3.5 hours.

Transportation between the Hampton Inn and The Commons Center will be provided for forum attendees free of charge.
