Scarlatti, and others Sunday April 23, 2006, 6 PM Recital Studio Hall MRH 2.608 FREE ADMISSION The UT Early Music Ensemble will present various works from the Baroque and Rococo periods. The program will feature solo and duet pieces for the harpsichord (Bach, Couperin, Handel, Scarlatti), the beautiful A minor sonata (a great example of the "empfindsamer Stil") and the Hamburger sonata for traverso and continuo by C.P.E. Bach. Also featured are three vocal pieces from the Luso and Spanish traditions: an anonymous 18th century composition from the Cuzco archives ("Caraviñas saon"), the only known Spanish cantata for solo soprano by G.H.
