The original Yusmar 1 swirl chamber was closed by a 6 mm thick steel plate welded onto the body of the swirl chamber. On this unit, the weld was removed so the interior of the swirl chamber could be observed. A number of 1/4" diameter bolts were added so the chamber could be reassembled for operation. A paper gasket is used to make the seal between the swirl chamber and the plate.

This unit was received without a central port for recirculation. We installed the port that you see in the photo above.

We also installed the two electrically-insulated voltage probes that can be seen just to the right of the central port. These probes were used to look for evidence of a voltage between the inside and outside of the water vortex. The probes are simply pressed into place. If the chamber is operated at high pressures, the probes must be held in place or they will pop out.

This is the entire unit. The ruler is 36 inches (0.914 m) long. As you can see, pipe fittings have been welded to both the inlet and the exit of this unit. This was done to facilitate connection to standard US piping. The curved recirculation pipe is made of 3/4" rigid electrical conduit and was fabricated by us. We also have another recirculation pipe made of 1/2" conduit.
